Twelve Dubuque residents left that city and served the C.S.A.  In this unique presentation, I plan to read some of their stories from my book, Iowa Confederates in the Civil War.  The stories will help flesh out the most common motive for Iowans to serve the Confederacy.  The stories will also shed light on family relationships, and the emotional and political pressures in wartime Dubuque.
